I Do What I Want

 Hey Y'all!
So I accepted the part time Physical Therapy Tech job. I am excited and nervous about it as I am more of a behind the scenes kinda gal not a people person. I guess if that make any sense. But God provided this job for me and I believe He did it for a reason. It is a great company...so I hear as 2 of my friends from church work there. Everyone is so nice and it seems like an upbeat atmosphere which is always a positive. Plus it is Monday through Friday and Fridays are jeans days and we get off early Fridays which is super nice. Going back to work will be nice because it will get me back on a schedule. Please pray that my training goes well as I am anxious about it and have a lot to learn.
On another note. I know its a little out of date but I have been reading 50 Shades of Gray mainly to see what all the hype (negative and positive) is all about. Surprisingly the book has a plot and isn't all that bad I am currently on the second book. My take on it so far is both the main characters, Ana and Christian, are learning to compromise as they both are in love. I know that this is just a book and not at all realistic but it is entertaining. I think that readers need to realize that any love story as far as fictional books or movies are just that stories. I don't know why but every time I watch a love story I cry when they end up together. I guess I long to feel that kind of love. I long to be in love. I have always cried during love stories when they end up together - it is weird and I don't understand it. Love should make you happy. Maybe I react this way because of my life situation. The fact that I have had so many major and minor losses especially involving father figures. Maybe it is just a reaction to my lonely heart. I know that God loves me dearly unconditionally but yet.... I don't feel it. I know that I weep when I watch The Passion and I know that God loved me enough to come die for me when I didn't deserve it. But as far as visible, tangible, physical love I do not feel it. I hunger to feel it. I hunger to be desired to be wanted. Not always physically but just to be talked to, accepted. I want to fall in love with someone who loves me with all his heart. I am not perfect and have always said that I am indeed perfectly imperfect. Therefore I need a love that is forgiving. I don't know why I react this way its just weird and maybe I am the only one but thats just me. Anyways, I am reading this series because I want to read it. I would recommend it but again I am not forcing it on anyone. I am reading it because I wanted to form my own opinion I have read enough blog post about it to see the negatives and positives of it. Maybe because I am single it isn't that big of a deal or maybe its because I know its just a bunch of words in a book someone made up. This is my advice to you don't base your opinions on what others have said or written base your opinions on what you believe and think to be true. Read it or don't read it but you make that decision no one else.
I hope y'alls thanksgiving and black fridays were well.
On November 30, 2012 there will be a guest post on here from Aunie from Aunie Sauce I highly encourage you to come back and check it out! She is super sweet!

1000 Days Review

This book is amazing. I highly recommend it to everyone! And the best part you can get it free all you need to do is review it on http://www.booksneeze.com

This is a book about the 1000 day ministry of Jesus Christ. It is well written and simple to understand and apply to everyday life. It is challenging and also uplifting and encouraging. It would be a great book to do a small group with and/or give a new believer because it is just great. If you had 1000 days to serve God and others what would you do? Would you look anything life Jesus? Would a book be written about you and your service?

I highly highly recommend this to each and every one of you. Just go sign up for booksneeze pick a book (I recommend this one but there are plenty- you can get it as a e-book or in the printed form) read it and write a review on your blog and any website like amazon. You won't be disappointed pretty much each month new books are available. Again the site is http://www.booksneeze.com

Weekly Goals & Prayer

Hey Y'all!  Hope you had an amazing weekend. I know I did. Busy as usual. This weekend marks the 6th year of my mother passing away. I know she is in Heaven though living it up! I have been busy with my Beth Moore workbook/homework. Still have a day to do and my small group is at 6:30 tonight! I hope to be as passionate about God's word as Beth Moore is. She is so filled with the Holy Spirit and such an inspiration to all who have a chance to see, hear or read her. Yesterday was quite a busy day we had a few events after church services mainly about missions and some of the missionaries that attend our church also yesterday evening was our MLT Meeting for leaders (anyone) to come and see what the church goals are for the coming month, to hear what goals were met for the month before and to be challeneged to be a better leader within the church, our homes, and our works. There is an event that I am debating on going to some of you might have heard about it... it is call the Global Leadership Summit. Its where all these leaders come together and share and it is broadcasted all over. These leaders range from business leaders, to church leaders, to ordinary everyday leaders. The thing that is holding me back is the $75 that I would have to pay to go in August.... so I am budgetting and praying about it.

Here are some of my goals for this week:
1. Finish the Jesus the One and Only homework before small group tonight
2. Get Abby a birthday present before her birthday party (If you have any ideas for a 10 year old girl please comment below!)
3. Send out thank you cards
4. Go to Bank of America to inquire as to why they opened my primary account when I closed it in March??!!??
5. Pay my loan payments. Support Ester!!! (Which I need to do a blog post on her!
6. Eat healthier & exercise. (If you have any tips and tricks for eating right and exercising please comment below!)
7. Stick to my monthly budget!
8. Go through all my things and get ride of stuff whether through yard sale or donate to a good cause like good will, sarah's house, etc.
9. Make up some business cards.
10. Keep a look out for my Mary Kay order. (I am active again!)
11. Read at least a chapter a day of 1000 Days by Johnathan Falwell (SUCH A GOOD BOOK!!!!)
12. Pray without ceasing. If you have any prayer request feel free to email them to me I would love to pray for y'all. Please put prayer request as the subject.
13. To clean out my car, desk, and room and organize them.

If y'all could pray for me that would be great. My prayer request for this week is that I would trust God with my life and fully surrender all to Him.

Thanks Y'all!

Little Inspirations

Hope everyone is having an amazing Thursday! I know I am and the work day is almost over so that makes today even better.Oh I meant to tell y'all I went to my small group last night about serving the Fatherless. I am really excited about this group. Not only did God specifically call each member of the group in for different reasons but everyone in the group has a heart and a passion for serving the Fatherless specifically foster children and fatherless children near and far. Oh man am I excited about this group for the shear joy of seeing what God has planned for us within the group.

Are any of you currently in a small group or bible study? If so (and if you are comfortable) please leave a comment telling me what all your group is about! I would love to hear.

Today Is Tuesday.

So I went to my Beth Moore small group last night. It was absolutely amazing. Beth Moore is so fired up about the Lord she really is inspiring and encouraging. For those of you who didn't read my post yesterday I am participating in a small group on Beth Moore's One and Only DVD. Last night we had about 5 other women come to the small group and I can't wait to see who all joins in next Monday night.

Also, I am VERY VERY EXCITED for Wednesday nights small group which is entitled Fatherless. It is a mixed group and it is a service group. We will also study God's word on serving others- especially widows and orphans. I cannot wait! I am so fired up to start this group tomorrow night! I will definitely tell you all about it.

I want to also share with you 10 books that I absolutely LOVE:
1. The Bible. This is the ultimate book y'all! God's living word. Every time I read it God reveals something to me that I either need to hear and apply or be challenged by.
2. Into The Wild. This book is about a young man who decided to retreat into the Alaskan wilderness and live among the land. It is about his life journey. (If you are interested in reading a used book I have one copy if you would like to leave me a comment below with contact information I will send it to you. This is first come first serve.)
3. Heaven Is For Real. This book really breaks down heaven into the simplest form. It is about a child's experience in Heaven. It is a true story.
4. Crazy Love. This book is about God's amazing love for us. It is inspiring and yet has challenge. It is a really good book. (If you are interested in this book I do have 1 used copy leave me a comment with you email and I will sent it to you- first come first serve).
5. Forgotten God. Another challenging and eye opening book about how today God is less of the focus and how sad that reality is. It challenges the reader to not be one of those people that puts God on the back burner but who puts God where He desires to be- in the center of our lives. ( I have 1 used copy of this book I will send just leave a comment with your email below- first come first serve).
6. Captivating. SUCH A GOOD BOOK. You need to read it. (I have 1 used copy of this book I will send just leave me a comment with your email below- first come first serve).
7. Passion And Purity. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! (I have a used copy if you leave a comment below with your email I will send it to you-first come first serve.)
8. God Came Near. This book is about Jesus. So good and by my favorite author Max Lucado. (I have a used copy please leave me a comment with your email if you are interested and I will send it to you, first come first serve.
9. Come Thirsty. Is a must read. (Leave a comment with your email and I wills end it to you- I have one copy so its first come first serve).
10. Twelve Extraordinary Women. Great book amazing women. (I have 1 copy please leave a comment with your email if you are interested in this book and I will send it to you- first come first serve).

Please if you leave me a comment below with your email please tell me which book(s) you would like me to send you. Thank you.

Where Did The Weekend Go???

Did anyone else feel like the weekend zipped right on by???
Friday night I didn't do too too much. Just kinda hung out. But MAN were Saturday and Sunday CRAZY BUSY!!! Saturday I got up around 8:30AM got ready in like 10 minutes and headed over to Sheri's house. Once there I help Sheri get ready for her house to be shown which meant picking up everything and make the house look like a model home. Then around 10:15AM Sheri and I went out to go shopping. We went to Marshalls and I found A LOT of things that I LOVED - which is rare for me. So we bought $140 worth of clothes there for me. Then we stopped at Norstrom specifically the MAC counter so that Sheri could get some more foundation. Which ended with her getting a complete makeover and us seeing one of the models for their Sailor Mac Event tap dance. It was awesome! Then we went to rackroom and both of us got a pair of wedges- My first pair! Unfortunately I can't show them off yet because they had to order our size. But I promise when they come in I will! Then we topped off our shopping experience with a cup of Jo from Starbucks. After that we went to my grandma friends 50th Anniversary Surprise Party. It was fun and the food was delicious!

Sunday I woke up at 8:15AM went up stairs to take a shower and someone was already in the bathroom!!! Can you believe that??? Don't the people I like with know that I must take a shower?? Ha ha. So I waited until like 8:35AM to take my shower. Which means that I was right on time to church considering we only had 1 service this Sunday at 9:15AM since we would be having our Church Picnic at 3PM. The message was really good. Unfortunately, I wouldn't make the church picnic as I had to chaperon Abby's birthday party at Clay Bakers. The party consisted of 7 girls that had crazy amounts of energy and no volume control. But it was fun to see everyone hard at work painting the pottery they picked out. Then we got to sing, eat birthday cake, and open presents. Abby was thrilled with all the wonderful gifts she received. Her birthday is on the 13th of June so we shall see what she gets on her actually birthday. She is hoping for a Ipod Touch. After the party Sheri's neighbors invited us to eat some crabs they caught. Its was so yummy! Then we returned to Sheri's house and ate pot roast, edamame, grilled veggies and couscous. Then I headed back home and finished the night out watching Call Of The Wild Man-- that guy is crazy!!!!!

Hope y'all had a wonderful weekend.
I can't wait for tonight I start a small group on Beth Moore's Jesus The One  and Only!

Heaven In Her Arms By Catherine Hickem Review

This is my second review for booksneeze.com and I was really excited about reading this book. To be honest thought I found this book disappointing. Don’t get me wrong the book context is great and full of truth and inspiration but for me I was thinking the book would be more about Mary and her faith then it would be about modern day mothers and their stories. Since I am not a mother myself I couldn’t relate to this book hardly at all… and when I could it was only because I have babysat and nanny children. The parts about Mary, her faith and relationship with Jesus and other mothers were very well said. She was the ultimate mother and woman of faith. If you read this book for nothing else but to get a glimpse of who Mary was then I would say pick this book up and read it right now! If you are a mother and would like to read a book that not only make you feel like you aren’t the only one struggling with your faith and your children then pick this book up and read it now. If you are single or do not have children of your own I would say that it is completely up to you… if you want to read it to build a basis for your future family go ahead but if you are looking for a book strictly on the life of Mary then I would say disregard this book simply because so much of it was written for mothers. Thank you for your time I hope you enjoyed my review of Heaven in Her Arms by Catherine Hickem.

What A Great Day!

Hey Y'all!
I know that this Thursday I haven't linked up to anything... I have been busy and have had the best day! Want to here??? Oh you do!!!! Welp here we go!

I arrived at work around the usual for late weeks... which is 8:15AM. I was a little dressed up for my special lunch out. When I arrived our visitor, Judy, from headquarters (or the towers as we call them) was already there. I was rushing around trying to prepare my morning work routine which consist of getting coffee, changing the date displays, getting my drawer, turning on my computer and getting the programs up that I use daily, and then checking the work from the day before (at least these things are what I do on my late mornings). By the way I am a teller at a bank. Don't know if I have mentioned that or not??

Unfortunately Judy threw off my morning routine by doing an audit on my drawer before I could check the work from the day before. But everything worked out my audit was perfect!!! And I got all the work checked by 9AM. Which is when we open the lobby doors... we open the drive thru at 8AM FYI.

After this I got the usual bunch of daily customers which was great and we were pretty steady until around 10:30AM. Which was good consider we all were in for a surprise when the electricity went out around 11:15AM. Thank goodness we all have cell phones to call around and inform. Unfortunately, there were still customers coming in to cash checks, make deposits and withdraws and do various other transactions. Which for us tellers means we had to document everything we were doing and for the customer trusting us to do the transactions when the electricity comes back on. I was already a little anxious around this time simply because I was meeting my Dad (Uncle who adopted me when I was 2.5 years old) at Applebees for his birthday!

I did manage to make it to Applebees with no problems and even got a table, and told the waitress that it was my dad's birthday.  When we walked through the door I was overcome with joy! (See my Dad lives in Tennessee and I rarely get to see him especially not on his birthday.) He looked REALLY GOOD too... he has lost some major weight and look healthier and more in shape! We got to talking and catching up. Then we order the soup, salad, bread combo... which is all you can eat!!! I got the french onion soup, house salad and bread and Dad got the Tomato Basil soup, spinach salad, and bread. It was yummy! On our second round we switch soup and can I just say that Applebee's Tomato Basil soup is DE-LICIOUS! No joke. (Like I saying ... get up from your computer, get in your car, drive to the nearest Applebee's and eat this soup right now kinda good!) When we were finished our meal is when the waitress and her gang of servers walked up... I can still hear Dad saying "They aren't coming to this table for me are they??? They are coming to this table for me???" And when they stopped at our table and began to sing ... my Dad's face turned BRIGHT RED.... what a priceless moment that was for me! And they gave him a complementary birthday hot fudge sundae shooter... since he is watching his figure he said I could eat it... though he did snag the cherry before handing it over. Then I took out his birthday card that I got for him! I really think it made his day! Then we went our separate ways.... which I hate. He headed on to Richmond, Virginia and I headed back to work. But man was it a great lunch!

Once returned safe and sound back to work I found power had been restored. I did the transactions from when the power was down, did current transactions and balanced my drawer. Then was called in to have a meeting because on of the programs we use is being revamped come June 11th. I am really excited about the changes being made. Once the meeting was over we locked the doors to the lobby (at 3PM). And started running work and getting ready for the end of the day.

Man was it a great day. Happy birthday Dad/Farmer Jack, and Happy Birthday Mom I love you and am sending birthday wishes to you on angels wings....miss you so much.

Hope today was a blessing to you! Tomorrow is Friday!!!! Heck Yes!

Today has been pretty lame. Pretty slow. But then again that is a typical Wednesday at my work. We have only have like 5 customers come in and we have been open since 8AM. I have been busy with projects for my manager and did have a problem accessing some of the programs used daily at my work which made for an exciting morning. Here are my 7 Questions With Gentri Lee:
Photobucket
1. If you were to start your own business, what would it be?
I would have a abstract art coffee joint. Where you can purchase or make abstract art, take guitar lesson with my best friend Brian, have poetry or other literature readings,  hear local musicians, oh and get delicious coffee. And I would have a conference hall in the back so that I could do retreats for bloggers, artists, christians, writers and musicians.
2. You wake up on the wrong side of the bed, do you embrace your grumpiness or try to fight it?
Is This True For Anyone Besides Me????

I try to fight it. Coffee ALWAYS helps and lots of PRAYER.
3. What's the very first memory you have?
I have no idea! Haha.
4. The world is ending, what do you do? Allow yourself to die? Fight? Hide? Etc.
I would probably Fight but would also know with certainty if I did die that I would go to Heaven!
5. What is your favorite meal of the day?
Mmmm... Midnight snack! I am a night eater which basically means I don't eat alot during the day but dinner and after I shovel food in like its air!
6. How do you best learn? Visual? Listening? Hands on?
All three. I love to listen but then again I love hands on!
7. What is your favorite joke? Don't really hear alot of jokes but here are a few things I found to be funny:

Soundtrack To My Life

SOUNDTRACK TO MY LIFE:
1. Pearl Jam: Just Breathe
 Wonder everyday
As I look upon your face, aw huh...
Everything you gave
And nothing you would take, aw huh...
Nothing you would take
Everything you gave
Did I say that I need you?
Did I say that I want you?
Oh, if I didn't I'm a fool you see
No one knows this more than me
As I come clean
2. Demi Lavato: Skyscraper
As the smoke clears, I awaken
And untangle you from me
Would it make you feel better
To watch me while I bleed?
All my windows still are broken
But I'm standing on my feet
You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper
3. Pink: F***in' Perfect
You're so mean when you talk
About yourself. You were wrong.
Change the voices in your head
Make them like you instead.
So complicated,
Look happy, You'll make it!
Filled with so much hatred
Such a tired game
It's enough, I've done all I could think of
Chased down all my demons
I've seen you do the same
(Ohh ohhhhhhh)
Pretty, pretty please, don't you ever, ever feel
Like you're less than fucking perfect
Pretty, pretty please, if you ever, ever feel
Like you're nothing, you're fucking perfect to me
4. Seventh Day Slumber: Matthew 25
I call myself a man of God
While laughing at my brother
I crossed the heart of a hungry man
Instead of giving him some bread
And what I say
And what I do
Are not the same anymore
And who I slay, who I betray
Lord have mercy on my soul
And you were hungry
And you were thirsty
You were lonely you were cold
And you were hurting, you were dying
I just left you all alone
5. Tenth Avenue North: You Are More
But don't you know who you are,
What's been done for you?
Yeah don't you know who you are?
You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.
6. Alli Rogers: Eden
We're all homesick
Is love the reason?
My hunger led me to your hope
Until the end of this colder season
Keep us warm
Cause we are always Eden
The day after she fell
We feel good and evil
And choose which one to tell
7. Otis Redding: Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay
Sittin' in the mornin' sun
I'll be sittin' when the evenin' come
Watching the ships roll in
And then I watch 'em roll away again, yeah
I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time
8. R. Kelly: World's Greatest
In the ring of life I'll rain love(I will rain)
And the world will notice a king(oh yeeeah)
Where there is darrkness, I'll shine a light(shine a light)
And the mirrors of success reflect in me(meeee)
I'm that star up in the sky(Ohhhhhhh Yeah)
I'm that mountain peak up high(Hiiiiigh)
Hey, I made it(Said I made it)
I'm the world's greatest(I'm that little bit)
And I'm that little bit of hope(Of hope yeaaah)
When my back's against the ropes(I can)
I can feel it(Feel it)
I'm the world's greatest
9. Miley & Billy Rae Cyrus: Butterfly Fly Away
Caterpillar in the tree
How you wonder who you'll be
Can't go far but you can always dream
Wish you may and wish you might
Don't you worry,hold on tight
I promise you there will come a day
Butterfly fly away
Butterfly fly away(Butterfly fly away)
Got your wings, now you can't stay
Take those dreams and make them all come true
Butterfly fly away(Butterfly fly away)
You've been waiting for this day
All along you know just what to do
10. Fanny Crosby: Near The Cross
Jesus keep me near the cross,
there's a precious fountain;
free to all a healing stream,
flows from Calvary's mountain.
Near the cross I watch and wait,
hoping and trusting ever;
'til I reach that golden strand,
it's just beyond the river.
In the cross,
in the cross be my glory ever;
'til my raptured soul shall find,
one of these days I will find rest,
rest beyond the river.
In the cross,
in the cross be my glory ever;
'til my raptured,
'til my raptured soul shall find
rest beyond the river.
He'll give me wonderful rest.
He'll give me sanctified rest.
He'll give me glorious rest.
He'll give me everlasting rest.
Rest, He'll give me rest.
Rest, He'll give me rest.
He'll give me wonderful rest.
Rest, He'll give me rest.
He'll give me sanctified rest.
Rest, He'll give me rest.
He'll give me glorious rest.
Rest, He'll give me rest.
He'll give me everlasting rest.
Rest, rest.
Rest, rest.
Rest beyond the river.

I hope these snipits of the song encourage and inspire your on this fine Tuesday! Y'all have a great day now ya hear!

Happy Monday!

Hey Y'all!
I hope you had a great weekend. I know that I did!
Friday after work I babysat Abby and James... we went on a walk and did a scavenger hunt which was really fun, then we went to the mall for some Maggie Moo's ice cream and so that i could get a strapless bra.

Saturday I got all ready for the wedding. (Did I tell y'all I found a dress!) It is a tube top dress... my first... and it is totally lovely. I will have to post pics after work. The wedding was beautiful! The ceremony was on the beach, the weather was gorgeous and of course Krista looks absolutely beautiful. Mark looked very handsome as well! The thing I loved most about the wedding was the connection Mark and Krista had every single time they looked into each others eyes. You just could see the love! It was such a pure moment.

Yesterday I pretty much just chillaxed all day. Brian and I did go and see Battleship at 10:20PM. Great movie. Action packed, funny, with a little love mixed in!

This week is special because this Thursday I turn 24!!!!!!!!! I can't believe I am that old. It is the only birthday I will have where my age and the date will match up. 24 on the 24th! Feel free to send me a gift! That would be such a blessing!

I hope y'all enjoy your Monday! Also, I want to leave with you a note of encouragement: "Charm is deceptive and beauty does not last, but a woman who fears the Lord will be praised." May you be a woman who fears the Lord today and everyday!

I do not choose the colors He worketh steadily
Of times the weaveth sorrow and I foolish pride

Not till the loom is silent and shuttles cease to fly
Will God unroll the canvas and explain the reason why
The dark threads areas needful in the skillful weaver's hand
As the threads of gold and silver in the pattern He has planned.

To Do To Sponsor To Change

Hey Y'all! How is your day going? Mine has been pretty slow but a good day overall. I can't believe tomorrow is Wednesday its going to Friday before you know it. So I have a couple of things I want to post about today so this post might come across as all over the place. So let me just start:

1. My To-Do List for this week.... well whats left of it.
A. Put my clothes away... I really just need to make this a habit.
B. Go through all the things in my room and car by tomorrow and make 4 piles: Keep, Donate, Sell, and Trash.
C. Get all the things for Donation together so I can drop them by my church tomorrow evening.
D. Pay my bills.
E. Check out World Vision and find Ester and sponsor her again (more on this below!)
F. Get gas.
G. Find an outfit for Mark and Krista's wedding this SATURDAY!!! They are one of the cutest couples I have ever had the pleasure knowing!
H. Pick out a wedding gift for Mark and Krista.
I. Get my eyebrows waxed.

Can I just say you will never know how your post will impact a person. Today I read this guest post on Brown Eyed Bell(e) it is about a family who listened to God and decided to sponsor a child. Man did it bring back memories about when I sponsored Ester.

ABOUT ESTER:
In high school I had found this website called world vision and I also had a friend very passionate about spreading awareness about Africa... well a group of friends..... who spread awareness about starvation in Africa, Aids in Africa, Kid soldiers in Africa... and much more. Well I started sponsoring a child in Malawi Africa and her name was Ester. She was awesome! Unfortunately when I went to college I stopped sponsoring her and that was what... in 2008. I am determined to find her again and sponsor  her. I am going to take my sponsorship more seriously. I was looking on the website today... World Vision... and I think --hope--pray--- I found her! I will have to double check with the packet I got when I was in high school. I so hope it is her! She was such a blessing in my life! I will have to take some pictures to share with you when I get home (I am at work right now) oh man I am excited.
