Today On The Agenda!

Today I woke up fairly early for me 10AM. I went to the bathroom to take care of some business. Then I got my computer and laid back down in bed to check my emails- hoping to see if Mo emailed me about nannying this week....Good news SHE DID! She said that she needs me tonight and tomorrow night and maybe Thursday... but I am hoping that she will not need me Thursdays because I am starting a small group Thursday evenings and really want to be there as much as I can- As my relationship with God needs to grow... or needs to start. I will also be participating in a small group on Thursday mornings with some women at my church reading and discussing Beth Moore's Believing God. I am excited about this group because I have never done a women's bible study and have never read Beth Moore book but have heard she is amazing!
I am getting ready to go to the movies to see the new Underworld in 3D... I will let you know how it is after I nanny tonight! Hope everyone has a blessed day!

Man On The Ledge

Alright so today was a great day!
I FiNALLY went to Jiffy Lube and got a much needed oil change.... I was about 3,000 miles overdue. I also decided to get my tires rotated and new wipers put on. Then returned home.
When I got home the energy in the house was negative... which means that people were in a bad, negative, depressing mood.. BOO. So I decided to take my best friend out of that house and get him some lunch at Red Robin. Then because we were at the mall we decided to go to the movies.
It was a hard decision about what movie to see... we already saw Beauty & The Beast in 3D which was AWESOME... our top 3 choices of what to see today were:
  1. Underworld
  2. Haywire
  3. Man On The Ledge
So the main thing that made our decision was show times. We would of had to wait an hour or longer if you saw Underworld or Haywire. But then again Man On The Ledge started 4:00PM which means we would be 15 minutes late.... but when we really thought about it all we would be missing were the previews. So we rushed up the stairs to the theater and got a soda and 2 candies: Twizzlers and Reeces Pieces. And when we enter our theater the movie was just starting! Of course I missed a lil because I ran to the bathroom.
I would recommend this movie to anyone. This is a great movie with a great plot and story line. Not to mention a great cast! So if you are looking for a good date night movie or anytime movie feel free to see Man On The Ledge will won't be disappointed!

How was y'alls Monday? What did you do this weekend?

I Saw Beauty And The Beast In 3D!

It was so good. And surprisingly I wasn't the only adult that saw this movie! There were like 3 kids with their parents and the rest were adults ha ha. I absolutely LOVE the tale of Beauty And The Beast. How could you not? Its a story about looking inside a person to find the beauty. Its about taking chances and making changes. A tale of true love...
when I saw this movie tonight this thought struck me... this is our story... God is Beauty and we are the beast. when you think about it. We must search inside ourselves to see God. God is ready to love us. He will never give up on us. God is our Beauty. He puts the Beauty inside us.
For me I have to remind myself daily that my looks don't matters its what is inside that counts. It is the beauty inside that shines out. it is the God inside that lives in me, that created me, that loves me NO MATTER WHAT, that makes me Beautiful. That makes me shine. May I never forget this!

My Weekend

Hey y'all! i want to share with you about my weekend.
It snowed on Friday night maybe an inch- which means Marylanders freak out and rush over to the grocery to get there milk, egg, bread and toilet paper. Other than the snow it was a pretty chill night. When Saturday rolled around we (Brian and I) kept on relaxing until about 8oclock at night unsure what the weather would do. We ended up going out to our favorite local restaurant and bar to see our friend Drew Stevyns (you might know him from America's Got Talent a few years ago). He is a great musician with a unique voice which i LOVE! When Drew arrived and set up he had some difficulty with the electric outlet. Luckily we found a hidden one that worked and he began to rock out! During his break something pretty cool happen a navy midshipmen who was there with his buddies decided he would like to play during Drew's break. Drew allowed this young man to use his equipment during his break and so this young man named Luke began to play. And he was surprisingly good. After his break Drew returned and finished out the night.
Sunday i woke up at 9:30 to get ready for church at 11am. I am so loving the sermon series on The Mystery Of the Holy Spirit it is so great. The best part is the we will never truly understand the Trinity and the Holy Spirit. I just love going into further depth on what the Holy Spirits j-O-B is. What is His role? Purpose? Why is He important?
After church I quickly drove to Sheri's house to take care of my cat Peter and to check on Abby's dwarf hamster Stripe, while they were away. Then rushed home to see the Ravens and Patriots game- not that i am too interested in football but because i knew it was an important game. Later on we did watch the 49ers and the Giants game. After all that football nonsense we (Brian and I) decided to watch some Comedy Central Presents.
Fun Fun right! Hope y'all had a blessed weekend!

God Provides All The Time

So last week I received a letter in the mail that stated that I didn't pay the $500 I owe by Monday the 23rd my car would be repossessed. Because God provided me with an awesome best friend who loaned me $360, provided me with a permanent part time nanny position at night where I made $100 for 4 days last week, and an awesome church family who gave me $150 I have plenty. I not only can rest assure that my car will not be repossed on Monday I can also make a payment for my bank overdraft protection that is past due. And I filed for an extension for my student loan. What a comfort it is to know that God provides and people are generous.
Also today I was contact by 2 people for possible jobs. The first would be a temporary job for a mother who is recovering from surgery, I be in charge of taking care of the grandma, light house keeping and making a sandwich or two for lunch. This would be for 2-3 hours a week, twice a week. Then next job offer was for a nanny position to take care of a 1 year old girl from 8-5 M-F. This would include light housekeeping and pet care. I know that God has a plan for me and I am praying that He unmasks His plan for my life.

Don't let the fear of the unknown bring you down; But rest in this truth: That God has a perfect plan for your life and He will always come through for you!

Busy Busy Busy Bee... HELP WITH HAIR!

Sorry for being missing for a day- it feels like a long time when I don't post. I went to Sheri's house last night and watched Secretariat with Abby and James as well as Sheri. Then spent the night as I had to babysit all day today. Abby and James were amazing of course! Lets see, we ate mini donuts and cereal for breakfast. Abby worked on her science project while James took a shower and brought in some wood. Then we all went downstairs to play Kinect Adventures and then came upstairs to play Ticket To Ride (if you have never played this game it is super fun!). Then Abby made pasta for herself, James made Ramen Noodles for himself and I didn't eat anything for lunch. After lunch James and Abby were eager to show me how far they got on their Spyrp game. around 5:30PM Sheri came home with dinner and we ate. I soon left after that.

When I walked in the door I was told the bathroom was DONE! It looks so good. Basically we took out the tub/shower combo and just made it a stand up shower with tile lining the shower walls and part of the walls in the bathroom. IT LOOKS REALLY GOOD will try to take some pictures tomorrow of the finished product!

Okay on a side note does anyone have any suggestions on how to style your hair when it is
this length? How should I style my bangs??? HELP!

Kids. Pizza. Ghost In The Graveyard. Movie. Yeah!

Hey Y'all. So unfortunately I totally forgot to take pictures last night but I do want to share with you what all we (the kids I babysat and I) did.

So I arrived at the house around 4 so I could borrow the shower as ours is getting a remodel. Then I ate some dinner which Sheri had prepared- Black bean soup. Then before you knew it, it was 5 o'clock time for the adults to go out and the kids to come in! The adults did order a x-large pizza for us before they left and gave me money for it.
We all went down stares and James, Danny and Katie started playing Dance Central on Kinect (or one of the other Kinect dancing games). Abby just sat on the floor playing her flute- trying to share her love of flute with her friends but they were dancing dancing dancing. Katie soon lost interest in hanging with the boys and decided her and Abby should play Mancala. Danny soon became bored with the Dance Central and so the boys decided to play Kinect Adventures. Which I thought was a really cool game.
Not too long after they started playing the door bell range which sounded the arrival of PIZZA! So the hungry kids ran up stairs to eat (well at least the boys did). They girls were busy with their Mancala game, but once they were done they too hurried up stairs to eat. Abby (who only eats pasta and bread it seems) asked if she could have one small slice of pizza to eat the crust and the back of... I said yes. They ate and talked and joked and laughed. And then Katie, James and Danny thought "We Should Make A Movie!" Which was a great idea (at least I thought so). But then Abby EXPLODED! Yelling about stupid electronics and how she had no one to do crafts with- then she ran down the hall and locked herself in her room (Luckily she is my sib so this was nothing out of the usual).
Me and Katie rushed down the hall and after a couple of knocks on the locked door- Abby agreed to open it. She told us why she had gotten so upset explaining that she never got a good part in any of the movies that her and her friends had ever made Katie reassured her that she could pick whatever part she wanted and they would make it the co-lead (as Abby didn't want all the spot light). Everyone went downstairs and started plotting the movie and looking at costumes and...
AND....
Then they decided to play their version of Ghost In The Graveyard (which is simply hide and seek in the dark). They wanted me to play... and be it first! So I laid on the rug face down and counted to 60 (1...10....20...30...40...50...60) got up and PITCH BLACK. Nervous that I might walk into the TV, wall, or worst step on a child... I slowly began to walk around the room.... I knew when I was near someone because they made little knocks or sounds so you knew if you were close or not... I recognized Abby's noise and went toward her voice. Reaching my hands out and then touch... nope that's a toy... touch nope that's the shelf.... touch ABBY I FOUND YOU! I was so excited to not only join in the game but also to actually be pretty good at it. We continued playing (I was IT twice) for about an hour and a half. Then the lights came back on and boredom once again set in for the kids.
So I being brilliant decided to suggest maybe they watch a movie (we have a TON... or so I thought). So they slowly went threw movie after movie- yes maybe no. After they went threw 50 movies, then 30 YES maybe NO, then 20 YES maybe NO, then 15 Yes maybe NO, then 10 YES maybe NO, then 8 YES maybe NO.... until they had 2 movies The Diary Of A Wimpy Kid 2 and Night At The Museum 2... 3 votes for A Wimpy Kid 2 (Abby being a definite NO because of a cheese part in the movie) and 3 No's and one YES for Night At The Museum 2. After much debating... the girls (Katie being a good friend) decided the boys could watch Dairy Of A Wimpy Kid 2 while they went upstairs and did crafts.
This was around 9 o'clock and the kids had to be settling down at 9:30... then I got a phone call from Sheri's neighbor Kim (she is nice but always wants something). I hesitated then answers and she said that she had called Sheri and asked if I would come over for 20 minutes so she could pick up her son, Nick, from a birthday party. You see her other son, Zack, was asleep (he is just 1 or 2 years old). So what could I do Sheri had already said I would. So I told the girls where I was going and if they needed me to call or run over.
Well it turned out that it took about 30 minutes for Kim to pick up Nick as she made a wrong turn somewhere along the way. She told me thanks and I headed back to the house hoping everyone and everything was okay.
Stepped in the house and heard giggling from downstairs (boys and gals were down there watching the movie now). I went downstairs and tried to tell Abby and James they were to go to bed Sheri said so. Abby refused... James was totally hooked into the movie. So, I went upstairs and called Sheri to see if they could finish watching- they were after all being quiet, laying down, and hooked into the movie. Sheri said they could stay up until the movie was over at 10:30.
Once they movie was over Abby was off to bed. James was off to bed. And Katie and Danny went upstairs in the den to chillax until their parents returned.
The adults returned around 11:15 and paid me well. I really enjoyed myself last night. I had a fabulous time with those kids. And Mo (Katie and Danny's Mom) said that I could babysit them anytime!

Plans For The Weekend! :)

Friday (Today's Plans)
To sleep in (wasn't planned just happened), to go to my guardians house and take a shower as we are redoing our at the moment and I am in desperate need of a shower, stay at the guardians and watch Abby, James, Danny, and Katie until whenever This works out because both the gals and boys have a playmate which equals NO FIGHTING! Yeah! Plus spend some much needed time with my kitty Peter... I will have to takes some pictures tonight so you know who I am talking about.
 Saturday:
I have no idea but definitely NOT sleep until 2PM. (Hopefully I get another interview with the bank I re-applied to) And most likely I will be on the hunt again for a J-O-B. And spend some time with God... which is much needed since I haven't had any out of my own obsession with the computer. My goal is to at least come up with a Bible reading plan and to read the daily devotions which my church sends to me. And if bathroom is done take shower if not I don't know...
Sunday:
Get up, get ready, and go to church. Post about church, Sunday sayings, and Wish {OUT LOUD} maybe some random ones as well. Come up for a plan for the coming week. Look on Pinterest for some fun things to do with Abby and James tomorrow.
Monday:
Okay the only reason I am adding Monday is because kids have off school and I am babysitting. Will have a better plan on Sunday for Monday! Plus will talk to Abby and James tonight about what they want to do on Monday.

Hope y'all have a fabulous weekend. Stay tuned for updates on my eventful weekend! What are y'alls plans for this weekend?

The Mystery Of The Holy Spirit Pt. 1

Okay so my church is doing a series on the Holy Spirit which was started on the 8th of January. I just listened to the recording- if you are interested in listening to it or looking at the pastors notes feel free to check them out at http://www.rtbc.org/worshipping/current-sermon-series.html my pastor is really great! Down to earth, funny and yet serious. He is awesome I eagerly encourage you to listen to this series- only part one is up (as the series has just begun). If you are anything like me the Holy Spirit confuses me. I am unsure of the purpose so listening to this series is going to help- it already has just in part one.

Basically my pastor, Pastor Dennis, told the congregation about 3 types of people.
The first being the Natural. The Natural people are those who do not know Jesus, those people who are APART from God.
The second group are the Carnal. This people group are those who know Jesus but still live as non-believers.
And then there are the Spiritual people. Those who have a relationship with Jesus, a partnership with the Holy Spirit, who are mature in the word, and who live as Jesus lived.
If I am honest with myself I am the second group. I am a Carnal. I need to surrender to the Holy Spirit. To ask for help to let Him shape and mold me. To trust Him. To listen and to learn. I fear I have known this a while now. That I have rebelling against God. That I have been on a plateau. A stand still spiritually. Thanks to this series and to many of the blogs I follow y'all have change my life. Have made me realize that I am not where I want to be. That I am NOT where God wants me to be. I have wondered why I haven't impacted lives, why I am unhappy, why I feel disconnected. It is because I have abandoned the Holy Spirit. Because I have lived a lie.
This is my vow: That I surrender to the Holy Spirit. That I listen and learn from Him. That I read the bible every day. And that I am aware of what I put in to my body, mind, heart and spirit.
Here is the prayer that Pastor Dennis gave to us, I want to share it with all of you, :
Holy Spirit of God... I need you in my life. All too often I try to live the spiritual life in my own strength...and fail miserably. Today I ask you to open my mind my heart and my spirit to the reality of your presence. I welcome you within and surrender to you. Help me to hear your voice, recognize your presence and welcome your help in my life. Teach me to see and hear you when you speak and help me respond when you lead me. Amen

Here is my challenge: Listen to the recording and really be honest about which group you are in. And vow to pray the prayer above (or your own rendition of it) every day. Allow God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit transform your life. Surrender to the Holy Spirit.

Give Away Over At Living In Yellow

Brittney is guest posting on Erin's blog she has also decided to do a lil giveaway. So check it out chicas!

We Bought A ZOO!!!!

Okay so I just watched this amazing movie you might of heard about it, its called We Bought A Zoo. Okay so aside for having Matt Damon and Scarlet Johanson in it and an ADORABLE lil girl; there was a great story line, some amazing quotes, and a great message. The message is that you should start an adventure no matter what others may think or say. It only takes 20 seconds of insane courage/bravery to do something extraordinary... (or something like that). That people are important in life. People reinforce each other. We build each other up as well as break each other down. That family is not only made up of people you know and love but of complete strangers who become your family.
This whole movie make me think about what I can do with my life. I mean if/when you see this movie you will see that God makes a way. God has a gorgeous plan in mind for your life. But what is it? When the movie ended I was left to wonder what God has planned for my life. Where does HE want me? How many people will I impact through my life? I know that life brings about pain and hardships and throughout those trying times God is right there with you. I know that God speaks to those who listen and that God has amazing artistry. I know that I only see a small corner of the BIG PICTURE of my life. I want my life to have meaning, to have a purpose. I want to live out God's plan for my life. I want to impact at least ONE life every day (though hopefully I impact more). I want God to UNMASK my life so that I may see where/what I am to be doing. I want to start my adventure.

I highly recommend this movie. And eagerly encourage each and every one of you to see it. And I ask you what are you doing with your 20 seconds of INSANE COURAGE?

On The Hunt....

I am on the hunt for a job. Its been a while since I have had one. Have been searching, applying, even interviewing and still nothing. My goal was to get out of retail and live out my passion (which is writing, photography, and abstract art) but it just seems like I am going to have to do a job I hate. I have been praying and I know God has a plan but I just wish that He would tell me. I mean I am behind on bills so badly that every day it seems like either the car loan is calling, the student loan is calling, the bank is calling, I already lost my Verizon phone because I could pay. I don't know what to do because if I go back to retail I feel like I just gave up and quit on myself, but if I don't do anything I will most likely ruin my credit (as lil as it is) and lose everything. I don't even know where to look! Should I look in retail, food, sales, media, nannying, pet sitting.... I just don't want to waste a companies time and definitely don't want to waste my own time. I just wish God would tell me it straight. I am so confused, frustrated, depressed, stressed.
what would you do? Do you like your job?

A Life Goal: To Find My Father's Side Of The Family

My father: Clarence David Patterson was murdered when I was 2 years old. I was then adopted or taken from my family. (My adoption was not the best). I know my birth family as it was an open adoption. I have never met my fathers side of the family and my mother has 2 sisters I have yet to meet. It has always been a goal of mine to find my fathers side of the family. To meet them. To reconnect with them. To find out all I can about my father. I know so little and being 2 I don't remember him at all... as badly as I want to. I have only one picture of him. I don't know if he has a grave or if a family member has him. Though I was looking online and found a grave site that I think might be his as it has the same birth date and the correct death year that he would have on his. I know that his family is most likely in Virginia and that his grave site (if he has one) would also be in Virginia. It is my life goal to locate my family member and meet them.
If you know how to go about searching for family members or anything that you think would be helpful please comment below. I also want to change my name back to my original name Amber Patterson if you know how to go about doing that and approximately how much it would cost would you also comment below.

Song For Sunday. Please Listen To This Beautiful Song Called Mary

Mary you're covered in roses, you're covered in ashes
You're covered in rain
You're covered in babies, you're covered in slashes
You're covered in wilderness, you're covered in stains
You cast aside the sheet, you cast aside the shroud
Of another man, who served the world proud
You greet another son, you lose another one
On some sunny day and always stay, Mary

Jesus says Mother I couldn't stay another day longer
Flys right by me and leaves a kiss upon her face
While the angels are singin' his praises in a blaze of glory
Mary stays behind and starts cleaning up the place

Mary she moves behind me
She leaves her fingerprints everywhere
Everytime the snow drifts, everytime the sand shifts
Even when the night lifts, she's always there

Jesus said Mother I couldn't stay another day longer
Flys right by me and leaves a kiss upon her face
While the angels are singin' his praises in a blaze of glory
Mary stays behind and starts cleaning up the place

Mary you're covered in roses, you're covered in ruin
you're covered in secrets
Your'e covered in treetops, you're covered in birds
who can sing a million songs without any words
You cast aside the sheets, you cast aside the shroud
of another man, who served the world proud
You greet another son, you lose another one
on some sunny day and always stay
Mary, Mary, Mary

Sunday Sayings: Giving Back Love

Its not really a saying but this is what I want 2012 to be all about.
Giving L-O-V-E.
Not falling in  love.
Not falling out of love.
Not just loving those I know.
 But loving everyone.
Loving complete strangers.
Loving because it is all I have to offer.

Some people view this as physical love.
I am NOT talking about the physical love.
I am talking about loving like Jesus Loves.
Giving up everything for someone in need.
Giving my time.
Giving my energy.
Giving everything.

One of my resolutions for this year is to serve those around me. Because many bloggers have inspired me by their goals. I have noticed that in my 23 years of life I have become a taker, unappreciative, and selfish. I don't want to stay that way. I want to be a GIVER. And God has been laying on my heart that I need to give up everything EVERYTHING. That the material things I have DO NOT MATTER. Since I have moved out of my aunts house (she and her husband have all these material things but still want more) I have realized how much that has rubbed off on me. When I look in the mirror the person I see is NOT the WOMAN GOD CREATED ME TO BE. My purpose in life is to be more like Jesus. To show people the way to Jesus through the life I lead. I do not think I have done a good job thus far and am ready to make a radical change in my life. I KNOW THAT ALL MY STRENGTH COMES FROM GOD.
I am still coming up with a project for my love movement. I have a heart to serve hurting people, serve those who were adopted or going through an adoption. Since I was adopted. I think that everyone has a passion for something (maybe more than one thing). I have a heart to serve. I have a calling to give love to all.

What is God calling you to do? What are your passions you are putting into action? Let me support you!
