Heaven Is For Real: Book Review

Have you every wondered about what Heaven is really like? About what Jesus is like? About if you will see loved ones who have gone on the Heaven?

If so or even if you haven't I would highly recommend you read Heaven Is For Real. It is a true story about a little boys experience of going to Heaven. It is in simple terms and very easy to read. It will rock your faith to the core and be an eye opening experience.

Here is what the back cover of the book says:
When Colton Burpo made it through an emergency appendectomy, his family was overjoyed at his miraculous survival. What they weren't expecting, though, was the story that emerged in the months that followed--a story as beautiful as it was extraordinary, detailing their little boy's trip to heaven and back.
Colton, not yet four years old, told his parents he left his body during the surgery-and authenticated that claim by describing exactly what his parents were doing in another part of the hospital while he was being operated on. He talked of visiting heaven and relayed stories told to him by people he met there whom he had never met in life, sharing events that happened even before he was born. He also astonished his parents with descriptions and obscure details about heaven that matched the Bible exactly, though he had not yet learned to read.
With disarming innocence and the plainspoken boldness of a child, Colton tells of meeting long-departed family members. He describes Jesus, the angels, how "really, really big" God is, and how much God loves us. Retold by his father, but using Colton's uniquely simple words, Heaven Is for Real offers a glimpse of the world that awaits us, where as Colton says, "Nobody is old and nobody wears glasses."
Heaven Is for Real  will forever change the way you think of eternity, offering the chance to see, and believe, like a child.

Highly HIGHLY recommend this book to everyone.
If you have already read it I would love to hear what you though about. And if you would like more information about Colton and Heaven Is for Real please visit this webpage .

Bully: Movie Review

I went to see this movie/documentary last night with a friend.
It angered me a little bit that we were the only ones in the theater, but then again it was a Tuesday night. I just hope that people take the time to see this documentary not for entertainment but to be made aware of bullying, the affect bullying has and what all parties say to the bullies and to the victims.

I am aware of bullying ...I believe that everyone deals with bullying in some way, shape, or form. I think today it is so easy to bully... you have the Internet, phones, anything really that you would or could think of at your disposal. Its so sad to think that kids today have to change who they are, what they wear, themselves to fit the mold. Kids today are so mean to one another. They pick at each others flaws or misfortunes. In order to "fit in" you have to have the latest style, the name brand, like the coolest music, and sometimes even be a bully. HOW SCREWED UP!

Even in this documentary it shows how the kids try to tell there parents they are the victim to bullying and they parents just let it roll off there shoulders. They tell their children to man up, that if they don't try to fit in and stand up for themselves their other siblings are going to get bullied because of them. HOW HORRIBLE IS THAT!!! Then when the parents find out what is actually going on and they confront there children they always ask the kid "why didn't you say anything?" The parents ask this, faculty members ask this, everyone asks this.... HELLO>>> MAYBE THE KID IS TRYING TO TELL YOU OR WORSE HAS TOLD YOUR AND YOU EITHER DIDN'T WANT TO HEAR IT OR YOU WEREN'T LISTENING.

And the schools.... OMGOSH.... the school itself, the board of educations, the bus drivers.... YOU are suppose to be providing a SAFE place for children. YOU are. EVERY ONE OF YOU who work there, volunteer there, or are there. If you see a kid that is being victimized why are you siding with the bully????? WHY! If you see a kid being picked on by his/her bully physically or verbally do you honestly believe that a handshake or making both kids say "I'm sorry" fix anything??? DO YOU??? SERIOUSLY? A handshake, talking to the kids, having them apologies to each other.... ISN'T SOLVING ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why are we listening to those who are victims of bullying????
Why does it take tragedies to happen for us to react?????
How many children... sons, daughters, sisters, brothers does it take for us to make a change?????
Why aren't we listening???
Why do we not react????
Why is the school system in denial of the problem....
why are the school systems pointing fingers at the parents, each other, or the victims????
 THE VICTIMS!!!!!!!!!!
Why is this world so messed up???
If you see someone being bullied or victimized don't just turn your face away and do nothing... STAND UP FOR THEM. DO SOMETHING!!!!!! Say something. Bring it to someones attention. Think about it this way (and if this doesn't hit home for you then I don't know what will) think of that kid being bullied as your child or sibling.... think about how it must feel for them.... imagine if they told you and you did NOTHING.... imagine them buying into the lies, curses, abuse they are receiving day in and day out.... and imagine them taking the situation into their own hands bring a gun or knife to school to protect themselves, or taking their own life. Let that hit you square in the face. Let it beat you down until it so rocks your world that there IS A PROBLEM that BULLYING IS REAL... And that THERE NEEDS TO BE A SOLUTION.

Take a stand with me to STOP BULLYING.
Thank you.

Tuesday 10: How Embarrassing Are These Movies

Happy Tuesday! Almost the middle of the week!
Today for Tuesday 10 the theme is your 10 favorite most embarrassing movie.

Mine are:

1. Bambi which is my all time favorite movie! LOVE IT! I am not at all embarassed about it either.

2. Pearl Harbor I know. I know. Sappy love story but I think it was a decent movie none the less.

3. Jaws Movies These movies I love and hate-same with shark week... I am scared to death of sharks (hence no picture for this movie) but I am intrigued by them as well. Jaws movies are so fake its rediculus but I still jump whenever they show a shark and I hate every second of watching it.

4. Piranha 3D I didn't see this movie in 3D thank goodness. But this is another movie that I hate because I am scared to death of Piranhas especially after this movie. The plot on this movie and the movie itself I think was horrible and stupid but I was still scared at the end.

5. The Strangers This movie scared the SHHH out of me! I love how they let you know it is based on true happenings/events. That just makes it all the more scary. I think I was terrified for a month of traveling, getting in my car, of really anything.

Can you see a pattern here... I apparently love to scare the SHHH out of myself by watching movies.

6. 300 Don't hate me! I loved this movie. Especially when they did a spin off of it.  \

7.Taxi Driver I liked this movie though I was very disappointed at the "You Talkin To Me" line because everyone talked about that line and I had no idea what they were talking about as I just saw this movie this year and I was like thats it? That is what everyone was talking about? He says the line in the mirror not even to anyone and everyone expodes and the line becomes famous!? Seriously???

8. King Kong Love it but at the same time really your going to fall for a gigantic gorilla??? Reallly???

9. StarWars Yup. You guessed it. I dislike StarWars with a passion. Don't understand how it could of gotten as big as it has. I think its kinda horrible. But I will watch it to see Jar Jar Binks.

10. Any Of The Step Up Movies. Well any dancing movie... Center Stage....Dirty Dancing....Stomp The Yard...If it has dancing I am down on watching it! LOVE IT!

Just Because: A Bit Of Everything

Hey Y'all!
Happy Friday!
And how beautiful is this weather!
At least here it is gorgeous.
So as you know today is Just Because Friday and also Friday the 13th.
Everyone here at work is making a BIG deal out of it being Friday the 13th.
I don't believe in all that superstition stuff.
I think God is Enough to put all the wrong right.
But that is just me.
Today I am just going to write about whatever.
Just Because its Friday and I can.
So here it goes!
My day at work has been pretty lame.
By lame I mean slow.
The best part is when its lame I can read all of y'alls blogs and comments!
One of my absolute favorite things to do on a daily basis!
I also love to find new linkups and new blogs to follow and link too.
Though one perk is that today is payday!
And the money is already in my account!
YEAH lets pays some bills.
Isn't that the truth!
Get paid and pay some bills.
Today for Lunch (I haven't taken it yet)
I think instead of eating (as I didn't bring a lunch)
I am going to read my book (Heaven Is Real)
which is such a good book!
Plus, I never know what to do with myself for an hour!
(I have an hour lunch break)
So why shouldn't I take a breather relax and enjoy a good book.
After work.
(Which I literally just contacted Sheri to see if I could like 30 minutes ago!)
I am babysitting Abby and James.
Because I want to hang out with them.
And because I have nothing better to do.
I am so excited
and am already thinking about what fun
crafts, sundaes, activities we can do
instead of sitting downstairs
and turning on the Wii, Xbox360,
Kinect, DSi's or the Gamecube.
I am thinking maybe we could do one of the following:
Play Ticket To Ride
Make Sundaes, or Milkshakes
Do a Puzzle
Do a salt dough creation and paint it
Have a dance party
Play ghost in the graveyard
If y'all know of anything fun you can do with a 13 year old and a 10 year old (boy and girl) please feel free to comment and let me know. Any and all suggestions are welcome!
I so hope you are having a great Friday!

Beauty: Light Beams Shining Through A Cloud Filled Sky

I wrote this on March 16th, 2011 on my view of beauty. I wanted to share it with y'all today so that it may inspire, encourage and move you!  Please let me know your definitition of beauty is in the comment area. Thank you so much! Enjoy!

What is beauty? Have you ever considered this definition: Beauty is the essence of God. Every one is made by God. So, everyone has beauty or is beautiful. So why are we so critical?

When most women look in the mirror they can pick out at least three things wrong with them. I can't tell you what guys do because I don't know. I know women sometimes, upon receiving complements, deny it. Or don't realize its not the clothes, jewelry, makeup, shoes, purse, hairstyle or accessories you wear but the beauty shining through from within. Think of it this way: have you ever look at a cloudy sky and seen the light shining through in beams. Well, I think that's how inner beauty is. It shines through. Inner beauty extends to outer beauty. So, ladies next time you look in the mirror look to your soul and know your inner beauty shines bright!

There is beauty in nature. I feel God's presence and see His beauty most when I am surrounded by nature. I get lost in the moment, in the beauty, and forget about all the drama and negativity in the world. Focusing on God and sitting or standing in awe of His beauty. I find it easy to drift away. Whether it be in the mountains or on a beach, in the forest, or on a pier, I see His beauty everywhere. And some days I can't escape to the mountains, beaches, forests or piers, so I just look at the clouds and drift away. I am always amazed at how fast the clouds move. We don't usually notice until we sit still and focus on them. Beauty is in Nature.

I always love seeing brides. Or weddings. To see the preparation for the wedding and the actually day. I love seeing the groom's eyes light up when he sees his bride. Brides wearing white, usually. Brides inner beauty shown outward. Brides looking, smiling, floating down the aisle to their future husbands. I love the flower petals laid down the aisle as the white dress floats across. Natural beauty enhanced by outward beauty. I also love the first dance. The time when the bride and her husband join and start their journey together. Both of them beaming with delight. Beauty fills the room.

Women, never let a man or society steal your inner beauty. Men, never steal a woman's beauty. Remember, (both genders) you are created by God. You have His fingerprint on you. And, beauty in intertwined in your DNA. Inner beauty shining through. Like light beams in a cloud filled sky. A bride walking down the aisle as the groom is overcome by her beauty and grace.

Tuesday 10: Favorite Easter Moments

This Easter was really nice. Though it went by way too quick.
Like I said in other posts I went to Wintergreen in Roseland, Virginia as my aunt has a mountain house there. It was gorgeous there and more like a retreat than a vacation- simply because you can't use your cell phone because coverage is iffy and there are only certain locations were you can get free wifi. Anyways here are a few of my favorite moments from Easter weekend:

1. The Drive.
I left my house at around 3-3:30 in the morning and drove the 4 hours to Roseland. I was so proud of myself for not getting lost! Which is a HUGE achievement for me as I am directionally challenged and an anxious driver when I don't know where I am going. Sadly I still get lost even with GPS. Anyways, I love getting on the road early for a couple reasons: (1) there was barely any people on the road, (2) I got to see the moon set and the sun rise all in one scene (moon set in front of me and the sun rose behind me it was a beautiful and priceless moment. (3) when driving in the morning that early I feel so much more relaxed and awake.

2. The Country Roads.
Some of the roads were back country roads with gorgeous HUGE houses on them and plenty of land and horses and cattle on them. It was just so peaceful to be a part of that moment.

3. The Mountains.
I have always enjoyed the mountains but during this time and on the Appalachian mountains it was such a blessing to see the mountains and valleys. It was also very cool to go up the mountains simply because at the base of the mountain everything was full and green and as you venture up the mountain everything becomes brown and eventually there are bare trees and leaves all over the ground. I think that is pretty interesting.

4. Coffee.
Since I got up at like 3 in the morning and drove pretty much all the way there with only one restroom stop I was so happy to see a fresh pot of coffee waiting for me when I arrived. Then I was even more thankful when my aunts husband accidentally made a whole nother pot of coffee. (I was so happy!)

5. Hiking.
After my coffee on Saturday morning me and Sheri went hiking. It was beautiful and a great way to start off your day! Not only was I taking in the beauty that God had designed and created all around me but I felt refreshed, at peace, and carefree, oh and energized and awake as the hike went on!

6. Roasted Peeps.
Okay if you haven't tried roasting peeps over a fire you need to try it asap! It is amazing and this is coming from a gal that hates peeps. I want to make peep smores and see how that tastes. And if you do try this please let me know what you think.

7. Easter Service.
I loved Easter service on the mountain. One there was a bluegrass band which is right up my alley! LOVE ME SOME BLUEGRASS! And the whole southern preacher thing was awesome!

8. Watching Hop!
Okay if you haven't seen this movie it is super cute so I encourage you to watch it!

9. Going Home.
As much as I loved the mountains I really missed my best friend Brian so I was glad to head home Sunday afternoon.

10. Watching A Program On Titanic.
Since it is the 100th anniversary I got to watch a cool program on the Titanic on National Geographic. I think they are running programs on Titanic all month or something.... can't wait to watch more!

Whelp there you have it a few of my favorite moments from Easter weekend. Feel free to join in and comment about your favorite Easter moment/memory

Six Hours On The Cross.... HE LIVES!

so yesterday around 3Am I left for Roseland, Virginia (Wintergreen to be exact). It took me about 4 hours to get there. Loved that there was no traffic and really enjoyed watching the moon go down and the sun rise! What a glorious moment that was!
I got there around 7:45 or 8AM and had 2 cups of coffee almost immediately- as I am the type of person where I can not even function without coffee in the morning.
Then Sheri and I went on a nature hike with a hike guide and about 6 other people (kids and adults). It was pretty fun but I think the guide spent too long on the discovery of flowers for the kids. I really enjoyed it though and felt refreshed and awakened.
After that we all (Sheri, Johnny, James and Abby and I) went to a snake's birthday party (his name is Arthur) who turned 12. It was pretty sweet the kids got to make snakes out of paper and hang them around the room, they could touch Arthur, make Arthur a birthday card, pin the tongue on Arthur, and of course eat cupcakes (which formed a snake - super cute!)
After that we went to take Johnny, James and Abby to do Easter crafts and other fun activities, while Sheri and I went window shopping at the stores on the mountain.
Then we joined Johnny, James and Abby for the Peep Roast! OK if you have never roasted peeps over a fire you need to do it asap! I have never liked peeps but I LOVE them roasted! YUM!
We went back to the mountain house to eat spaghetti which was amazing! After din I had to take a shower as I was pretty much falling asleep at that point. After my shower we all enjoyed watching the movie Hop. If you have never watched it, it is a super cute movie!
After the movie I immediately went to my room and passed out haha. It was like 9PM which made me feel pretty lame for going to bed that early but oh well I needed sleep.
Today was great! HAPPY EASTER by the way!
I got to go to service at Wintergreen. IT WAS AWESOME! First off there was a small 3 man bluegrass band (which I loved!) and a great southern preacher! During the service the band did this song which I had never heard which is called "Six Hours On The Cross." Instead of writing about it I am going to post the lyrics below and let the words move you as they moved me.  So enjoy!
My savior was prayin' one day in the garden
He knew that He must soon give His life
He knew that He must go on to Calvary
I'll tell you my friend He paid a great price.
(Chorus): Six hours on the cross our Saviour hung dying
Six hours on the cross oh what a sad time
My God, my God why am I forsaken
Six hours on the cross your Saviour and mine.
Now the soldiers led Jesus to the judgement hall
He suffered and bled and died for us all
They crowned His head and spit in His face
There was no one to take His place
So tired and so weary He could not lay down
While carrying His cross He fell to the ground
Oh sinner wake up and give up your pride
Six hours on the cross He hung there and died
Six hours on the cross our Saviour hung dying
Six hours on the cross oh what a sad time
My God, my God am I forsaken
Six hours on the cross your Saviour and mine
Six hours on the cross your Saviour and mine
If this song doesn't move you I cannot tell you what will. Just reading it gives me chills. What a great Savior we have to give His life for a world of sinners! How loved we must be for the God to come to the world in the form of a human and die a horrible death for us! To rise to life so that we might one day meet our Savior Jesus in Heaven and thank Him and praise Him for all our days on Earth and in Heaven!
Amen! Amen! Our Savior lives!
(P.S. I am back home in Maryland thank you for all your prayers for safe travel!)

Hopefully get to Roseland VA without any problems
Go on a hiking adventure at 9-9:30 AM (my aunt planned this)

I am really anxious right now because I want to get there. I am so excited to be going and am sure I will leave a little early because anxiety and all. If you could please pray for safe travel and that I don't get lost.

Thursday 13: The Crazy Silly Things You Do

Happy Thursday! I hope y'alls Thursday is a blessing. I am here at work (its been really slow) just enjoying all your post, and comments and tutorials Can't wait to try em all I almost have a full notebook of crafts, tutorials etc that I want to try.

Since it is Thursday I want to share with you Thursday 13! So without further ado please enjoy:

Aunie Sauce

The Silly Crazy Things
 People Do That I LOVE:

1. Give Generously And Wholeheartedly.
What a beautiful moment it is when someone gives to God and/or others generously and wholeheartedly. Never wanting anything in return. Isn't that so rewarding when you give openly and freely and are rewarded with the purest joy!

2. Say Thank You!
Whether it be for the smallest thing or the biggest when someone says Thank You it means the world to me and I am sure it means the world to others.

3. Laughing.
There is nothing in the world more glorious than when people laugh out loud. It is so contagious and brightens everyones day!

4. Use Their Blinkers!!!!
I absolutely LOVE when other drivers use there blinkers. It is so much easier to know what they are doing and also I am more likely to let you into the lane if you USE YOUR BLINKER! (Can you tell this is a major pet peeve of mine?!)

5. Talk To One Another.
I am a listener so there is nothing more relaxing and enjoyable then listening to people talk to one another. I especially love when they talk lovingly to one another (aka encouraging, praising, building up etc.)

6. Do Not Talk/Text/ Or Answer The Phone When Checking Out.
This is another pet peeve of mine that I am so thankful for the few people that do this. There is nothing more irritating then being a cashier/teller/customer service representative or whatever trying to help a customer while they are gabbing on the phone. Would it kill people to put down there phones, electronic devices or whatever for 5 minutes??? Seriously I am so afraid for our future because technology is taking over.

7. Random Acts Of Kindness!
When I hear about or participate with people who do random acts of kindness daily it is just so encouraging and inspiring. You don't know how much you can change someones entire outlook on life just by doing a simple act of kindness.

8. Don't Conform.
Have you ever walked past someone who is a little out there or who doesn't fit the norm? I LOVE those people. The people who are themselves and aren't going to conform to fit a certain mold. The people with the AWESOME colored hair, with tattoos everywhere, with piercings, that wear unique and colorful clothing and do their hair and makeup boldly! LOVE THOSE PEOPLE! LOVE THEM!

9. Love The Skin They're In.
I love people that know and take to heart that they were fearfully and wonderfully made! I love when they love themselves. Every aspect. Especially if they see all there flaws and short comings and love themselves all the more.

10. Speak The Truth In Love.
Have you ever been approached by a Christian or any religion for that matter and they come to you not preaching to you but as a friend. They tell you their testimony and maybe some basic facts and details about what they believe and why and then they lovingly let you decide what to believe! I love that. All too often (I am a Christian by the way) I have seen way to many people speak out on Jesus and being Saved in a negative way.... If you don't become a christian RIGHT NOW you are going to BURN IN THE ETERNAL FIRE OF HELL.... seriously??? One how do you know? Two you have no right to judge and or determine someones future because you do not know there heart!  I believe our mission (Christians) is to love people where they are. Let us not judge and beat down and scare people into faith but rather let us love them were they are, speak the truth in love, and let God change their hearts. Amen? Amen!

11. Tip Generously.
Okay I know this kinda goes with number 1 but hey what can ya do? When you tip well and by well I mean at least 15-20+ % you are going to bless your waiter/waitresses so much! I would challenge you not only to tip those waiters/waitresses that go above and beyond what is expected but tip EVERYONE well.... because you may not know what is going on in that servers life. Maybe they are just having an off day, maybe a tragedy has happened in their life, maybe its their first day, what ever the case maybe challenge yourself to go above and beyond in your tip. Bless them with a generous tip.

12. Adopting/Fostering .
Whether it be adopting/fostering an animal or a little baby YOU ARE MY HERO! I was adopted, I also have adopted animals from the SPCA.

13. Bloggers/SnailMailers/Swap Buddies.
I love all these people and what they do because I love reading and receiving a piece of you! I love reading about your heart, your life, everything that you may right about or do I enjoy that you have opened up enough to let me in the loop! I am so thankful for each and everyone of you!

Tonight I am going to watch the Baysox Game and could not be more excited. Its a love hate relationship... I love when the ball is on the field I hate when it is flying into the audience. Love hate... haha. Enjoy your evening y'all!

Inspirational Blog Hop

What a fun hop! The people that inspire me most are: Jesus. Need I say more? He is amazing. To know what He had to do and to complete it. To sacrifice Himself for the good of the human race! How amazing. What a great example He is for so many life things such as the importance of prayer, relationships, hope, healing, miracles, how to be an obedient son, how to sacrifice for others, how to become lesser so that His Father God can become greater. What a beautiful Jesus we have. Job. Job believe it or not is one of my favorite authors and books in the bible. Which a lot of people find strange but if you know my life story you know that Jesus and Job both struggled and endured many hardships, trials, but held fast to faith. Both were greatly blessed in the end. Job for me really hits home on the fact that God is bigger than any problem or trial. He is so worth the pain and suffering he endured. He ignored his friends and some family members and held fast to God. I love that God answered him so many times!  My Birth Parents. I am so blessed to have had such a strong pair of parents. Even though my father was taken from me 21 years ago I know that he would of done anything he had to for his family. My mother was so strong and supportive and I couldn't of been more blessed to have known her. Even on her death bed she clung to life to make sure that my brother, DJ, walked across that stage to receive his high school diploma, she made sure her youngest son was in good hands as he is totally dependent upon someone else, she made sure that all of us were together. Yes, both my parents have gone on to Heaven but I know that one day we will reunite in Heaven and cannot wait until that day comes! Each And Every One Of You Readers/Bloggers. Y'all inspire me more than you could know. Whether it be sweet words of love and support in my comments, or just the fact that  you read my blog or emailed me about one of my post or some event that you would like me to participate in; these are all so encouraging to me. I couldn't ask for a better group of readers, blog friends, and followers. Love ya!

Have a blessed day!

Mrs. Robinson's Questions:
1. Is your blog on Twitter ~ why or why not?
No simply because I do not have a Twitter account at this time.
2. Tell us one thing that you where once able to do, but now feel like you're too old to do it or too old to pull it off.
Get into amusement parks for kid prices... I am simply too tall and too old. Plus it is not right to pretend you are younger than you are just to get in an amusement park for a lower price.
3. What is your most common or favorite day dream?
I guess taking a walk on the beach and talking to God... I day dream about it often.
4. Do you have any good broken-bones stories? Tell, tell!
Nope... never broken a bone.
5. Name one aspect of yourself that embarrasses you. For example...I have a HUGE appetite and it embarrasses me, haha. How 'bout you?
Probably that I am tall... sometimes it is embarrassing... though I am coming to terms that I am fearfully and wonderfully made by God.
6. Do you have any tattoos? Piercings?
No tattoos but hopefully one day I just can't decide what I want. I have my ears pierced and really want to get my nose pierced maybe for my birthday this year?!
7. Tell me about your fingernails.... painted? natural? are you obsessed with fake nails like I am? Shellac?
Right now I am rocking the natural look though I would love to do some fake nails as mine do not grow at all.
8. How is God using you or working in your life right now?
Right now God is teaching me to listen and trust. Trust that He will provide. Trust that He is enough.
9. What is something you should be able to do easily but can't? (That's a weird question, so I'll elaborate. I struggle with telling time on a non-digital clock or watch and I also don't know anything about the planets.
